Values appear in several models of leadership, including transformational leadership, and have been proposed as the foundation on which transformational elements of leadership sit (Avolio, 2010).
Given that positive emotion is both an element and product of transformational leadership and often the target of workplace coaching interventions, understanding its impact on performance criteria is a crucial step.
The first positive model of leadership arrived in the form of transformational leadership that suggested extra discretionary effort could be unlocked from the follower by focusing on the augmentation effect derived from inspiring others towards a higher collective purpose.
Specifically, this study examined developmental readiness, change readiness in the coachee to measure both their capacity to predict changes in transformational leadership and to act as outcome criteria in themselves after coaching.
